Minecraft Server Hosting
Run your Minecraft server on a VDS of your own: Java Edition or Bedrock, Paper for plugins, Fabric or Forge for mods, the choice is yours. It sits at Mars Istanbul Data Center behind TRSHIELD DDoS protection, with a dedicated profile for each edition.
Extreme packages for Minecraft
Both the Java server and Bedrock Dedicated Server install on any of these packages. Look at memory on the cards first: it sets how much you can give the Java server.

Which edition do your players use?
Mojang's Java server serves players on Java Edition. Bedrock Dedicated Server, on the other hand, officially supports cross-platform play: Bedrock players on Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices all join the same server at the same address.
For a Bedrock server, you can install Ubuntu 22.04 or newer on Linux, or Windows Server; Mojang publishes official server binaries for both platforms.
For a Java server, you install the Java release that matches your chosen Minecraft version on your VDS. Modern 1.21+ releases and current Paper or Fabric servers run on Java 21 or newer, while older Minecraft versions can be paired with their matching Java runtime.
Plugins or mods?
There are two main ways to customize a Java server. Paper and Spigot run plugins: plugins live only on the server, so players connect with an unmodified client. Economy systems, land claims, minigames and administration tools are typically built with Paper plugins.
Fabric, Forge and NeoForge load mods and modpacks instead. Mods that introduce new blocks, biomes, items or mechanics must be installed on both the server and each player's client. On Bedrock Dedicated Server, behavior and resource packs serve the same purpose.
On your own VDS, you choose the server software and decide when to upgrade, keeping your current version running smoothly until all of your plugins or mods support the next release.
How big will your server get?
On a Java server, you set how much memory it gets with the -Xmx value in the start command. Keeping that value about 1–1.5 GB below the server's total RAM leaves comfortable room for Java's own overhead and the operating system.
- Friends' server
- A plain world for a few friends, or a Bedrock server, can start on one of the first packages in the list.
- Public server
- On a Paper server with plugins, memory and CPU needs grow as players and plugins are added; look at the middle and upper part of the list.
- Modpacks and networks
- Large modpacks, and networks that put a lobby and several game servers behind a Velocity proxy on one VDS, lean toward the top packages: the lobby and each game server are separate Java processes, and each needs its own memory.
- As you grow
- Your starting size is not fixed; when your community grows, switch to a bigger Extreme package.
Minecraft-specific DDoS protection
TRSHIELD's Minecraft Java profile validates login attempts to your server, answers server-list pings at the protection edge and also checks query traffic. Bedrock has its own profile, which validates connections against RakNet, the protocol Bedrock uses.
Both profiles are part of TRSHIELD, with 12 Tbps of capacity, and cost nothing extra. The protection covers all known attack vectors and keeps being improved.
If you add a plugin or side application that uses its own port and that no ready-made profile covers, you can ask our support team to develop custom protection for that traffic.
See your players' ping in advance
In Minecraft, latency is felt most in PvP and when breaking and placing blocks. Rather than guessing, have your players measure their latency to Mars Istanbul Data Center with the Ping Test; the test runs right in the browser. Share the link on your Discord server so each player can test from home and send you the result.
What stays under your control?
Every layer is yours to manage, from the files on disk to the Java version. That is also why keeping the server updated and secure is your responsibility.
Software and version
Switching from Paper to Fabric, or staying on an older Minecraft version until your mods catch up, is your call. You can install the Java releases that different versions need side by side on the same VDS.
Bedrock updates
On Bedrock, a player cannot connect if the game and server versions do not match. When your players' devices update the game, you plan when the server gets updated.
Scheduled tasks
Set restarts and world copies for the hour when the fewest players are online, and keep the copies wherever you like.
Access
You set the whitelist and operator (op) permissions, and can open the server only to the players you invite.
